Watauga Rafting/Wade Trips
The Watauga River fisheries are created at the outflow from large dams. The constant cold water current provided by the reservoir’s outflow, coupled with the generally silt free nature of the outflow, creates ideal water conditions for a robust trout population. This trip is all day and includes both wading and river rafting fishing oppertunities.
The South Holston and the Watauga Tailwaters are known as some of the most famous and complex trout fisheries in the South. A wade trip to these rivers is a full day and includes a lunch. Typically we will leave the shop around 8:00 am and return between 5:00 and 6:00 pm. These rivers are only about an hour from the shop and we are very fortunate to be in such close proximity to these two renowned rivers. These rivers will be your best shot at getting into trophy Brown and Rainbow trout. All equipment is provided. TN licenses will be purchased on the drive to the river.
